Difference between Elance and Odesk

As it is era of computer, everyone finding easy to use and effective ways in every fields of life, trend of working online is more approachable and efficient. Many of websites proving themselves as a source of finding work online but Elance and Odesk are largest online planets, giving opportunity to market placers meet the rightly required work force and vice versa. Both are performing their role in a right way, although there is specific kind of difference between their strength n weaknesses because of the difference of motive and management.

Basic operating systems:
When difference in both sites is concerned, Odesk is very widely spread and easily accessible but there is no process for keeping the money safe. Sometimes when clients pay early contractor seems to disappear and sometimes when quality work is done clients are lost without paying the worker. Because they do not use Escrow systems like Elance. Odesk is very workers friendly because it is free of cost to bid (in specific quantity) in any category whereas by using Elance for free one can get only access to basic users and can bid to some of the categories. To place your bids for more jobs there is fee.

Job opportunities:
By using Odesk job opportunities rely on profile completion and feedback given by previous company and a bit on self test taking about skills one possess. On Elance, monthly bid is maximum 15 with the completion of basic information about applicant.

Meeting needs:
One will easily know this by using Odesk, clients (company) can get thousands of contractors (freelancers) for very low cost from all around the world. Odesk aims to provide jobs on very small bids. But here the main issue arises, once a project is posted, company will get number of applicants there so it is hard to refine the list and pick up deserving and required. This site some times overview the quality of work. So it is most possible that one might not get quality work here. But work completion is assured.
On Elance due to shortage of bid company may get specific list of workers which makes it possible to choose the right one.

 Facilitation provided to users:
Another main difference between both is their tracking system. Odesk have a reliable tracking system with screen shots of work. Although Elance also facilitate you with tracking time and work but it is with out screen shots and not much reliable as Odesk.

  1. When you join odesk, take it serious. Never consider it as a joke. Most of my friends take is as a joke and they never become successful. I always take my odesk tasks very serious. Whenever you come to odesk, it means you have entered into a huge marketplace where you will find a globe of skilled & experience contractors, employers and different job opportunities.
  2. As a beginner, try to pass some tests. Before starting tests, prepare yourself for the test. Remember that always take the preparation serious just like your school/college/university exams that you consider serious. After the preparation, start your desired test.
  3. While starting test, read all the instructions very carefully before test. During test, read the questions very carefully and then choose the correct answer.
