Free Chat Rooms for Website or Blog

Here are some of the free chat rooms or shout boxes which you can add to your website or blog.

Free Shoutbox

This site is free for all but you need to create an account to be able to log in. There is a demo of the Shoutbox on the left side to give you an idea of what to expect once you are logged in. Help links are provided for any issues that you may encounter.  You are given options to edit or delete posts or even block a certain IP from your chats. There is a private mode for confidential conversations between two people. Different themes or designs are provided like chat with or without dates, with or without emoticons and combinations of whatever you prefer.

Everywhere Chat

This link provides you with an option to add chat to your website for free. It provides different themes and option to format text sizes, personalize the name of your chat room or an option to just join an existing chat room. There is no need for email to use for registrations, just put in a name and join any room based on whatever interest you or the subject that is being discussed. It can be used to share with any applications like Facebook, Twitter, blog sites, Tumblr, Google plus etc.

Planet Live Chat

Planet live chat offers emoticons, file sharing, video and voice features. It has handwriting mode, which will allow you to scrawl with a handwriting tool to add more pleasure to your chat experience. There is of course a video chat for those who actually want to see who they are talking to. If you are on the go, there is an option to use mobile chat. You can access your chat history if you want to review it as well. And like a lot of chat sites, there are rules especially on video chats. Nudity is not allowed at all times and there are administrators and moderators who will kick you out of the chat room if they observe inappropriate behavior from anyone.

All of these choices are given for people to enjoy but it does come with some risks to the person using chat rooms. It is always wise to exercise caution especially when divulging personal and confidential information to someone you don’t know very well. The danger lies not in the use of the chat room itself but more in the persons using it and their carelessness. Instant communication and access are all advantages provided by the internet but there is always a need to exercise caution and common sense.
