Upwork Warning: Spam Cover Letter Violation

A week ago, I had got a Spam Cover Letter warning from oDesk. The following was the ticket sent to me by odesk. Remember that if someone doesn't reply to this email warning within 24 hours, the oDesk suspends the contractor's account.

Dear Muhammad Sohail,

oDesk Warning: Spam Cover Letter Violation

As part of oDesk's continuing commitment to ensure all users are in compliance with our policies, we are implementing a quality review on all coverletters.

After a review of the content of your cover letter, we have identified a job application which did not match the requirements of the posted position, thus is not in compliance to our cover letter guideline which can be read here:
http://www.odesk.com/help/help/find/find_jobs/apply#cover

In order to maintain the integrity of the oDesk Marketplace, we require that all cover letters be unique to the job posted. You can see the details of your cover letter below:

May we request you to either reply to this email or contact support within 48 hours to confirm compliance to this policy. Failure to do so may result to possible account interruption.

Should you have questions or clarifications regarding this, please feel free to contact us and we will be more than willing to respond to you.

Respectfully,

Maple

Thanks GOD, I had saw the message otherwise, oDesk might suspend my account. I had replied oDesk within 2 hours. The purpose of sharing this post is the inform you that never use the spam cover letter, and never copy and paste the same cover letter again and again. Write a unique cover letter with different skill (as required) for each job post.

  1. Thank God you "had saw"? Are you a profesional writer? Does oDesk do any screening for qualifications? Scary!

    1. no, i'm not a professional writer, and when i need some help, i hire a writer. i don't know about the screening, but i know well that they are looking at each and every cover letter, as they had mentioned this fact in the reply to my message.
